The Little Rock School District Parent Involvement Office will host a celebration for parents, students and families on August 28. It's called “Parents Make a Difference Day”!
Parents, community organizations and schools will participate in hands-on activities and informative seminars that will help to foster greater student success at school and at home. More activities can help foster the overall well-being of the family. The ultimate goal of all workshops is to increase student achievement in school.
Speakers will include Rev. Hezekiah Stewart, Director of Watershed; Dr. Wally Goddard, Family Life Specialist at the UALR Cooperative Extension Service; and Beverly Broadnax Thrasher, LRSD Literacy Coach and Lions Club speaker.
"Parents Make a Difference Day" will be held at Parkview Magnet High School, 2501 John Barrow Rd., from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 28. Childcare will be provided upon request to pre-registered attendees; please pre-register by August 25.
